Orientation exercise part 1

To start off the year we were given an orientation exercise in order to get to know the other students on our course, and Southampton as a city. This part of the exercise involved finding various locations in and around the West Quay shopping centre that would be of use to us over the next year. These included: MAC, Smashbox, Benefit, Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown. I decided to work in a pair with Lucy in order to find the locations easier as both of us had not yet had time to explore the city previously. As part of this task we were asked to enquire what each brands 'hero product' was, this being the product that is the most popular and sells the most and take a 'selfie' of us at the location. We found this task quite easy as these particular locations were all close.

Here are the Bobbi Brown 'best sellers' their 'hero' products included; long wear gel eyeliner and the smokey eye mascara.

Here are the Laura Mercier 'hero' products. These included; primer and camouflage concealer.

Outside Laura Mercier.

Outside Smashbox. This brands hero product was the Photofinish Primer which was the first invented 18 years ago.

Outside MAC. This brands hero products included the extreme dimension mascara.

Finally the last makeup brand we visited was Benefit who's 'hero' products included the 'They're real' mascara and the gel eyeliner.
